Social media and the increased stimulation of the dopamine circuit when recieving upvotes seems to be an extremely powerful part of the modern formation of the lonely masses. The business strategy of dopamine addiction employed by social media platforms seems to have within it a potential for totalitarianism. Very spooky.
Interestingly the lack of a downvote button, partially grounded in the idea of shielding people against having their feelings hurt, could be a contributor to the process of mass formation. A person with few upvotes is being both percieved as a loser and left with the feeling of being a loser as a consequence of this perception. This acts as an encouragement to want to modify ideals and positions or simply keep quiet on the issue.
There is the chance that a person who steadfastly stands for his ideals in a storm of downvotes will at some point be offered the benefit of the doubt due to his perserverance through all adversaty. If his claims are indeed good, despite the flurry of downvotes, he has a fair chance of being rewarded for his perserverance by gradually winning ground and then his position will be endowed with the feather in the hat of winning through adversary and be a part of the positions that can deem themselves to be victories of freedom of speech.
And then I just have to admit, as I just thought of it, that the person with little upvotes in a system without downvotes, might also be so lucky that someone compassionate might give the person the benefit of the doubt or maybe take the time to take argue against the claims seriously and as such having a chance of being subjected to the force of facts counter to their emotional investment in their arguments.
It is not hopeless, but hope seems weak in face of the social medias potential to amplify mass formation. In all cases it is the problem of information overload and not following through on the concealed valid facts.

Never got a notice on this post. WIX is glitchy, or some leftist/godless WIX moderator is messing with our community. The recent Twitter revelations, that the FBI has been messing with and directly targeting conservatives with a staff of 80 agents, vindicates what I've been saying for a long while... They were even targeting low level meme'rs, and maybe even me, as I was booted from Twitter for stating that a mass murderer should be taken out back of the court house and shot (that is a Urian position -- that if a suspect is already known to have done the act, they can receive direct justice or rapid sentencing).
Being a part of the 5% means that we will eventually be targeted for elimination. I remind myself that the Ahyeh does not prohibit self defense. I also keep in mind that I firmly believe in the afterlife result and at times, eagerly await it. I hope that when my time comes I have to courage to stand for God and what I believe in.
